Criminal Justice System And Migraine Symptoms

A migraine can attack a person at any time. Women are more likely to suffer from migraines than a man. Migraine symptoms can appear in many forms. Some people complain that for a couple days before the migraine they are tired and cranky. They may experience a neck that hurts and depression for a couple of days before the migraine occurs. Some people may experience vision problems before they get a migraine. Migraines can last anywhere from a few hours to several days. Migraines are not fully understood by the medical field yet. Doctors can talk about things that are the symptoms, but they are unsure what causes all migraines.

Migraine symptoms can be like an early alert system to people who know what the symptoms are before a migraine strikes them.  Causes of a migraine can be sensitivity to light, tumors in the brain, stress and the beginning of the menstrual cycle. Chocolate and caffeine can trigger a sudden migraine for some people and that means they must not eat chocolate or drink anything that has a lot of caffeine in it.

The criminal justice system can help inmates who show the beginning migraine symptoms by providing them with migraine medication. Taking migraine medication regularly will help prevent the migraine before it beings. Migraines are not like typical headaches. Pain killer that is usually taken for minor headaches will not necessarily work on a migraine. Migraines, while similar to a headache do not function the same way in a person’s head. If not treated, migraines can easily overtake a person’s life. They will live in pain daily until a doctor is seen and a treatment plan is decided to resolve all symptoms of a migraine. Getting a good night’s sleep every night will go a long way to helping the body fight off a migraine.
